July 4, 2014
Not sure you can call this camping. Sure, we woke up in tents, made breakfast and eventually returned to sleep. However, most of the day was spent in Munising celebrating the holiday.
Having a house in town as a home base has it's advantages.

The first of the festivities was a parade.
Maynard had his usual reaction to fire trucks.
After the parade we made our way to the bay shore for lunch and other activities.
There was also a water fight put on by the Munising Fire Department. Two teams of fire fighters shooting each other. The kids come out in the bathing suits and the fire fighters spray them in between fight rounds. Quite a sight to see.

Dinner was back at the house and consisted of whitefish and asparagus on the grill.
As the sun set, the temperature began to drop. I changed from my shorts to my jeans and put on my jacket. Again, July 4th and I am in what I consider clothes for late fall!
After the sunset and fireworks display, we are back at camp and sleeping. After all, it is the UP and the fireworks did not start until at least 11:00pm.

This is the most memorable 4th of July I have ever had.
