What a wonderful day today was. We started off the day at the
BSA troop 141 pancake breakfast at
Applebee's. Before we could even get home, Arsenal scored against Sunderland. Home to watch the remainder of the game and a convincing
victory.
The highlight of the day had to be the geology hike at
Occoneechee Mountain. There we learned about the eastern most mountain in NC that is part of the Appalachian Mountains. We learned about the unique geology and
pyrophilite that make the area unique. Along with the geology, the mountain, at 867 feet, is the highest point in
Orange County. This lead to some wonderful views of the Hillsborough area.
