Weather, Fun, Weekend

Another beautiful weekend has passed.  Warm temperatures, clear skies.  Well, clear skies except for the pollen.  As you may be able to see in the photo, the sky looks green/yellow.  That is all of the pollen floating around in the air.  Winters in the north make cars ugly from all of the salt and snow on the road.  Here in the south, all of our cars take on a similar tint due to all of the pollen.    Joshua got a rock hammer this week.  We took another trip to  "Garnet Hill."   A few more garnets for his growing geology collection.  Prior to our trip to the side of the highway for garnet collection, we went to the  Rolesville Middlel School  and  Rolesville High School  FFA AgFest. Weekend Wrap-up, No Fooling

The first weekend of April 2014 was a busy one.  Saturday morning started out with the scout kids each heading out to a different event.  The webelos scout went to a Math Day and earned his math belt loop and pin.  The older boy scout went to a horsemanship merit badge event.  I spent an hour at  Wake Forest Dirt Days  with Gina and Josh. Josh had his picture taken next to a screech owl and holding a corn snake.  Brendan spent four hours in the park with friends from school and one that changed schools this past year.  Playing basketball, water gun fight. Saturday was also the 34th birthday of R.E.M.   A lot is still going on in the world of R.E.M. even though the band officially no longer exists.  A Record Store Day release, Michael will induct Nirvana to the Rock 'N Roll hall of fame, Peter has a new album, and some "new" merchandise is being sold from years gone by.  Click the link above for more information.
